Quinoa – what is it and what do I do with it?

Quinoa is the wonder grain from South America ~  gluten-free,lighter than other
grains, and full of protein!

Quinoa has travelled the world!

 

New menu’s:

Breakfast ~ a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast can be replaced with quinoa.

Lunch or dinner ~ seasoned quinoa on the sweet or savory side and eaten with fresh fruit or a T-Bone.

 

How do you prepare quinoa?

2:1 ratio of water and quinoa:

  • Boil the quinoa uncovered on a stovetop, stirring occasionally.
  • Cook for about 15 minutes, or until the grain becomes translucent and a white spiral appears around the grain.
  • Add a dash of salt and/or a bit of butter before serving.
  • Other great additions include: chopped onion, cinnamon, or GF soy sauce.
